Student American Dental Hygienists' Association (SADHA)
The objectives of SADHA are to cultivate, promote, and sustain the art and science of dental hygiene; to represent and safeguard the common interest of the members of the dental hygiene profession, and to contribute toward the improvement of the health of the public.”
HGTC’s chapter holds regular meetings at least three times per year. We often have guest speakers from our community who cover topics from product information and fundraising opportunities, to interviewing skills. We aim to get involved with community service opportunities and share the most up-to-date dental hygiene information with each other. We try to partner with our local Grand Strand Alliance chapter of the ADHA whenever possible.
The annual state meetings are scheduled in conjunction with the SCDHA (South Carolina Dental Hygiene Association) Annual Symposium and the SADHA February Conference which is hosted by one of the 6 accredited hygiene schools in South Carolina.
The ADHA (American Dental Hygiene Association) hosts a national conference every summer and all students are encouraged to attend. There are continuing education courses, networking opportunities, and tons of vendors! The ADHA also provides scholarship opportunities at the state and national level. After graduation, membership in the ADHA is equally important. They are the collective voice for all dental hygienists nationwide. They are the body that can affect change when it comes to legislation. Getting involved as a student is the best way to get engaged and make some amazing friends!
SADHA is a College affiliate chapter of the national professional association. Membership is limited to students of the Dental Hygiene Program.
