Counseling and Mental Health Services
HGTC Counseling Services strives to optimize student success through managing personal and academic concerns that may interfere with achieving educational goals. Staff are available to every student for assistance and guidance on personal matters, academic concerns and other areas of concern.
Personal Counseling Resources
Events and experiences in our personal lives directly impact our abilities to succeed in our academic lives. We know your academic career is a top priority for you, but we also know that things in your personal lives can significantly impact your ability to focus on class, take detailed notes, perform well on exams or even be able to make it to class. Personal counseling resources are available and free to students who are currently enrolled at HGTC, please contact by emailing counseling@hgtc.edu. Appointments can be made to discuss issues such as relationship problems, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, loss or grief, burnout, and more. Counseling services can also assist in providing referrals to outside counseling services for those students who prefer a counselor outside of HGTC and/or feel they may need long-term assistance.
