HGTC and The Citadel Establish Business Transfer Agreement
Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) and The Citadel recently established a new transfer agreement that allows HGTC graduates with an Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration Degree to transfer credits toward completing their Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the Citadel. The Citadel’s degree program is offered entirely online, so HGTC graduates have the flexibility to continue their studies from home.
“We are pleased to offer another university transfer opportunity for our students,” said Dr. Candace Howell, HGTC associate vice president of academics and dean of arts, sciences and business. “The online component of both institutions’ programs provides more flexibility and a smoother transition for students as they begin their business careers. No longer is having to be on campus a barrier for students to pursue a baccalaureate degree after HGTC.”
“We are excited to provide an opportunity for HGTC students to complete their associate degree, transfer their credits and complete their bachelor’s in business administration at The Citadel,” said Dr. Jeremy Bennett, assistant professor and director of MBA & Undergraduate Programs at the Citadel. “The new agreement allows the HGTC students to stay in their communities and complete all work towards their degree online without missing a beat.”
HGTC’s Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration degree is a two-year program with options to specialize in hospitality and marketing. Students leave the program with a strong business foundation and are prepared to go straight into the workforce or to transfer on to a four-year institution to pursue a baccalaureate degree.
