2015 Foundation Gala
On March 22, 2015, the Myrtle Beach Chapter of the Chaine des Rotisseurs joined Horry-Georgetown Technical College's Foundation Board of Directors for an elegant evening in support of the Colleges Culinary Institute and raised $100,000.
The eighth-annual gala drew more than 170 supporters of delicious food and outstanding education. The evening's theme was "A Tour of Italy" with delectable Italian food and wines. The décor was inspired by the opulence of Rome. The silent and live auctions enticed attendees with a trip for two to Rome and Tuscany, a wheelbarrow full of wine, fine art, yachting and pontoon excursions, and several private dinners prepared by some of the best chefs in town.
Each year, the gala proceeds benefit a scholarship fund and other culinary arts projects,
like the construction of HGTC's International Culinary Arts Institute of Myrtle Beach,
which is intended to open in 2016. foundation
This year's event raised $100,000 to support the growth of culinary arts along the
Grand Strand. The Tony and Allyson Hirsh Scholarship Fund granted $12,000 to 10 deserving
students.
