Nursing & Health Sciences Institute
Plans are underway to renovate and expand Building 100 on the Grand Strand Campus to support expanding Health Science programs and accommodate innovation. The project scope includes creating a 20,000 square-foot training space for HGTC students enrolled in Healthcare Science programs and the local healthcare community for professional development. The project has a $15 million budget and will be completed in 2025. This expansion on the Grand Strand Campus will provide additional space to:
- Increase healthcare student enrollment;
- Add new healthcare programs;
- Introduce an integrative, technology-enhanced, interprofessional simulation learning environment representing today’s healthcare delivery setting; and
- Provide professional development opportunities for our healthcare partners.
The new center will host the following programs; Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and Vascular Sonography. With the relocation of medical imaging programs to Building 100, the vacated space will be refurbished and retrofitted for new programs including Occupational Therapy Assistant and Medical Lab Technology.
