Mrs. Lori Heafner, HGTC Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness & Development
Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Development, Mrs. Lori Heafner, has been invited to serve as a peer instructor at the 2025 Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Summer Institute. The event will take place in July at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida.
Mrs. Heafner was selected based on the recommendation of SACSCOC staff, recognizing her expertise and contributions in higher education. The SACSCOC Summer Institute is a premier professional development event designed to support institutional effectiveness and student learning through meaningful collaboration and knowledge sharing.
As a peer instructor, Mrs. Heafner will co-facilitate a session on Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Implementation and Assessment, which will guide participants through essential strategies for managing and assessing a successful QEP. The session will provide attendees with valuable insights and practical knowledge on:
- Effective management and organizational structures for implementing a QEP.
- Approaches to assessing the QEP’s success.
- Structured reflection and peer discussions to address institution-specific challenges and develop actionable solutions.
Mrs. Heafner will collaborate with another peer instructor and a SACSCOC staff advisor to finalize a comprehensive syllabus, including pre-reading materials, an agenda, and interactive participant activities. SACSCOC’s Meeting Planning Office will provide full logistical and instructional support to ensure an engaging and impactful experience for attendees.
