HGTC Hosts International Culinary Institute Open House March 1

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is excited to welcome culinary enthusiasts, aspiring chefs, and hospitality professionals to a special Open House event at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach (ICI) on Saturday, March 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event will take place at the HGTC Grand Strand Campus, located at 920 Crabtree Lane in Myrtle Beach.

The Open House offers a unique opportunity for prospective students interested in culinary arts, baking and pastry arts, and hospitality and tourism management to explore the cutting-edge resources, state-of-the-art technology, and world-class instruction available at ICI.

Event Highlights:

  • Tour the Facility: Explore our modern teaching kitchens, bakery/patisserie laboratories, exposed cooking suite, and outdoor BBQ kitchen.
  • Meet Expert Chefs: Engage with our esteemed chef instructors who will share insights into our degree and certificate programs.
  • Program Overview: Learn about our associate degrees in Culinary Arts Technology and Baking and Pastry Arts, as well as specialized certificate programs in Kitchen and Food Preparation Techniques and Professional Cooking.

Joseph Bonaparte, Executive Director of the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The Open House will be a great opportunity for prospective students interested in a career in culinary arts, baking and pastry arts, and hospitality and tourism management to see firsthand the resources and technology available at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach.”

  • 10:00 – 10:15 a.m. – Event Check-in
  • 10:15 – 11:00 a.m. – Welcome & ICI Presentation with Program Overview
  • 11:00 – 11:30 a.m. – Kitchen Tours/Speak with Faculty
  • 11:30 – 12:00 p.m. – Learn More about The International Culinary Institute
