Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is proud to announce the start of its Certified Crane Operator Program, beginning Monday, February 3. This program, offered in partnership with Skyview Crane Training and Inspections, will relaunch based on the growing demand in the crane and rigging industry.
This short-term, two-week course offers a comprehensive introduction for beginners on how to operate, inspect, and set up both swing cab and fixed cab cranes. The course’s main goal is to prepare students for the National Commission for Certified Crane Operators (NCCCO) written and practical examinations, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills necessary to operate a crane on any job site.
Included in the two-week course, students will also receive training on the following: rigging components, inspection, execution of rigging activity, hand signals, voice communication, safety standards, and situational awareness. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion and a photo ID card upon finishing the course.
