Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is thrilled to announce its Marketing Department has been recognized by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) for outstanding work in design and communication. At the recent District 2 Regional Conference, HGTC’s Marketing Department received three prestigious awards, including two gold medals and one silver medal, highlighting their achievements among community and technical colleges across a diverse and competitive region.
The 2024 NCMPR Medallion Awards honor HGTC’s exceptional accomplishments as follows:
- 1st Place Gold in the Brochure Category (single or series)
- 1st Place Gold in the Radio Advertisement Category (single or series)
- 2nd Place Silver in the Successful Recruitment or Marketing Program Category
“These awards are a testament to the creativity and dedication of our marketing team, who work diligently to represent HGTC’s brand and mission effectively,” said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, HGTC President. “We are incredibly proud to receive such esteemed recognition and to stand out among other impressive submissions from colleges throughout District 2.”
The NCMPR District 2 region encompasses community and technical colleges across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, as well as international locations including Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. The NCMPR Medallion Awards exclusively recognize marketing and public relations excellence in two-year colleges and are a notable achievement within the field.
"Being acknowledged at this level is both an honor and a reflection of our commitment to a high level of creativity that connects the College message and branding with our community,” said Lari Roper, HGTC Marketing Director. “The Marketing Department’s innovative spirit and creative strategies set us apart. We are excited to be part of the NCMPR organization that champions creativity, growth, learning, and recognition among college professionals.”
