Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is proud to announce the launch of its new Insurance Licensure Certificate Program, a dynamic educational pathway designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the insurance industry.
The program, offered through the college’s Workforce Development Division, features comprehensive coursework in Property & Casualty Insurance as well as Life, Accident & Health Insurance. This curriculum not only prepares students for the South Carolina Property & Casualty and Life, Accident, and Health insurance state examinations but also integrates several business courses to foster the development of well-rounded insurance professionals.
President of HGTC, Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, expressed her enthusiasm for the new program, “We are thrilled to introduce the Insurance Licensure Certificate Program to our workforce development offerings. This program embodies our commitment to providing practical, career-focused education that responds to the needs of the industry and empowers our students to achieve professional success.”
The new Insurance Licensure Certificate Program underscores HGTC’s dedication to workforce development and its role in supporting the economic growth of South Carolina.
Instrumental in the development of the new Insurance Licensure Certificate Program is Callie Wise, a State Farm Insurance agent serving the North Myrtle Beach area with insurance and financial services since 2015.
“Recognizing growing insurance workforce needs in our area and serving as a member of the insurance advisory council, I believe that HGTC is in an excellent position to customize a program to prepare future insurance professionals for a successful career. I am excited to be part of this transformational program,” said Callie Wise, Owner at Callie Wise State Farm Insurance.
