Mekhi Pyatt, HGTC Digital Arts Graduate 2024
Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is thrilled to announce an exciting summer program that promises to ignite imaginations and transform artistic aspirations into reality. Whether you’re a teenager dipping your toes into the vast ocean of creativity or a seasoned professional seeking a renaissance, these immersive classes in Graphic Design, Photography, and Videography are designed for enthusiasts of all ages.
“This is more than just a summer program—it’s a safe haven for exploration,” said Colleen Balzotti, HGTC Professor of Digital Arts. “Imagine a budding artist, wide-eyed and eager, stepping into a world of pixels, lenses, and frames. They’re not just learning; they’re discovering their passion. With guidance from our seasoned instructors, they’ll delve into the intricacies of Graphic Design, capturing the essence of Photography, and weaving visual narratives through Videography.”
The classes will give students the opportunity to experiment without the burden of grades and the fear of failure. Those already established in their careers can explore creative potential with hands-on projects to understand concepts, manipulate pixels, and create visual symphonies without the pressure of deadlines.
Unique to these classes is the mentorship aspect as current HGTC Digital Arts students, participating in the internship class, become mentors to guide and share insights. In return, students gain more than just internship credit; they witness the spark of creativity ignite in others.
Classes begin June 17, July 8, and July 22.
