Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) proudly announced the outstanding achievements of its students at the recent South Carolina Society of Radiologic Technologists (SCSRT) 75th Diamond Jubilee Conference held in Charleston, South Carolina, from April 3-5, 2024.
Under the guidance of Dr. Douglas Gleasman, HGTC Academic Chair, Professor, and Program Director for Radiologic Technology, students Alyssa Holodook, Alexis Watts, and Stevie-Leigh Parker, from the program participated in a series of enriching activities aimed at enhancing preparation for the National Registry Examination. Engaging in team-building exercises and attending speaker presentations, they absorbed valuable insights crucial for their future in the field.
One of the highlights of the conference was the "RAD Bowl," where students pitted their knowledge against peers from other technical colleges across the state. Demonstrating their expertise, HGTC students secured an impressive 2nd place by answering practice registry examination questions with precision and depth of understanding.
"These achievements underscore the dedication and talent within our Radiologic Technology program," said Dr. Douglas Gleasman. "We are immensely proud of our students' accomplishments and remain committed to providing them with the best education and opportunities for success."
“The success of HGTC's Radiologic Technology students at the SCSRT conference serves as a testament to the program's commitment to excellence and its role in shaping the future leaders of the radiologic technology field,” said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, HGTC President.
