Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is excited to announce a unique opportunity for expectant mothers in the community. As part of our commitment to excellence in education and healthcare, HGTC's Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is offering FREE non-diagnostic obstetrics and gynecology (OB) ultrasound sessions to expecting mothers during the Spring 2024 semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays, now through April 11.
Under the guidance of qualified Sonography Instructors, enrolled HGTC Ultrasound students will perform these ultrasounds to refine their scanning skills while providing families with cherished images of their newest addition. These one-hour sessions offer expectant mothers and their loved ones a chance to witness their baby's development firsthand, all while contributing to the education of future healthcare professionals.
"We are thrilled to provide this invaluable opportunity for expectant mothers in our community," said Susan Gallant, Professor and Clinical Coordinator of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at HGTC. "Not only does this program allow our students to gain real-world experience, but it also gives families a memorable glimpse into their baby's journey."
The FREE non-diagnostic ultrasound sessions will take place at the HGTC Grand Strand Campus, located at 3501 Pampas Drive in Myrtle Beach. Interested participants can schedule their appointments online at www.signup.com/go/kSpVAGs or by calling 843-477-2176. To qualify, mothers must be more than 20 weeks into their pregnancies and have a record of their prenatal ultrasound with a primary physician.
