The Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Foundation was awarded a $40,000 grant from Truist Foundation for the new HGTC Nursing & Health Sciences Institute. This significant contribution will serve as a catalyst for enhancing nursing and health science education programs and overall healthcare services within the community.
"We are overwhelmed and so very grateful for this tremendous support from Truist Foundation," said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, HGTC. "This grant will significantly impact our ability to fulfill our mission and elevate the quality of our health science career opportunities. It will enable us to provide enhanced learning experiences, support the professional development of our faculty, and expand access to critical healthcare services in our region."
The grant underscores Truist Foundation's commitment to investing in creating career pathways to economic mobility through reskilling and upskilling workers. By partnering with Truist Foundation, HGTC can further its efforts in training and educating the next generation of healthcare professionals, who are poised to play a vital role in improving health outcomes and addressing healthcare disparities in the community.
