The Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Foundation is excited to announce a generous $25,000 donation from Envirosep, a leading provider of engineered products and services for fluid handling, heat transfer, and energy recovery. This contribution will support the Georgetown Center for Advanced Manufacturing Center (GCAM) on the Georgetown Campus, which aims to advance workforce development and manufacturing education in the Lowcountry.

The donation will enhance educational facilities and programs at HGTC's Georgetown Campus, directly benefiting students through expanded opportunities for hands-on learning in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment. The GCAM focuses on preparing students for high-demand careers in the region’s growing industrial sector, equipping them with the technical skills needed to thrive.

Tim Tilley, CEO of Envirosep, expressed the company's enthusiasm for supporting the initiative stating, “We are proud to support HGTC and its commitment to providing students with the skills needed to thrive in today’s advanced manufacturing landscape. As a company that values innovation and local talent, we believe in the power of education to drive economic growth and create sustainable career opportunities in our community. This donation is a tribute to our commitment to both the region and the next generation of skilled professionals.”

The HGTC Foundation, a nonprofit organization, works in collaboration with donors, businesses, and community leaders to provide funding for scholarships and programs that drive student success. The GCAM plays a pivotal role in ensuring that students have access to advanced training and resources in fields such as welding, machine tool, mechatronics, and other industrial disciplines.

Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, President of HGTC, praised the impact of the donation, saying, “We are incredibly grateful to Envirosep for their generous support. Their investment in our Georgetown Center for Advanced Manufacturing is not only an investment in our students but also in the future of our region's workforce. Partnerships like this are essential to HGTC's mission of providing education that fuels economic growth and opportunity.”

The Georgetown Center for Advanced Manufacturing on the Georgetown Campus is serving as a regional hub for workforce training, helping students gain the skills needed by local employers while fostering economic growth in the community.

“We are deeply grateful to Envirosep for this significant contribution to our Georgetown Center for Advanced Manufacturing. Their generous support underscores the importance of collaboration between industry and education to build a stronger, more skilled workforce. This donation will provide our students with the tools and training they need to excel in high-demand careers, ensuring that both our students and our region thrive in the evolving landscape of advanced manufacturing,” said Shannon Detzler, HGTC Foundation President & CEO.

The purpose of the HGTC Foundation is to raise funds to support the programs, services and activities of Horry-Georgetown Technical College, its students and employees, and to create and strengthen positive relations between the College and the community.
