The HGTC Foundation Board of Directors proudly announces the remarkable success of the 16th annual Gala, themed "Passport to Paris" and sponsored by MINDZERØ. This year's event, held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the HGTC International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach, exceeded all expectations, garnering net proceeds over $130,000.
The Gala, a cornerstone fundraising event for HGTC, attracted a sold-out crowd and featured an evening filled with entertainment, a sumptuous five-course gourmet dinner crafted by HGTC professional chef instructors and students, and more.
This year's virtual silent auction boasted an array of enticing packages, including Chef-Catered Dinner Parties, Spa Packages, Dining & Nightlife Attractions, and Travel Packages, among others.
Shannon Detzler, HGTC Foundation President & CEO, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors, attendees, auction donors, and volunteers whose unwavering support made the Gala possible. Detzler extended special appreciation to MINDZERØ for their role as Premier Event Sponsor, emphasizing the event's profound impact on the culinary and hospitality sectors within the community. Detzler noted, "The annual Gala has a significant impact on our culinary and hospitality businesses in our community. The support directly benefits students through scholarships and program enhancements. The annual Gala has a storied history of success, having raised $1.4 million in the past 16 years to support HGTC programs and scholarships. Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, HGTC President, underscored the Gala's vital role in advancing the College's mission, stating, "The annual Gala event has been an extraordinary success for the College raising the essential funding for student scholarships."
The HGTC Foundation extends an invitation to the community to participate in shaping the College's future as a premier learning and teaching institution.
