Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) employees recently demonstrated support for The Shepherd’s Table in Conway. The HGTC Academic and Workforce Development Division hosted the annual “blue jeans week” fundraiser to support The Shepherd’s Table mission of serving nutritious meals to the homeless, working and non-working poor, veterans, and senior citizens, including men, women, children, and families.
“I am very proud of the efforts of HGTC employees donating in support of The Shepherd’s Table. Our faculty and staff genuinely care about the community that HGTC serves and look forward to annually supporting local charities in the area during fundraisers like this,” said Dr. Jennifer Wilbanks, HGTC Executive Vice President for Academic and Workforce Development.
HGTC employees presented a $1,445.00 check for the cause. Accepting the check on behalf of The Shepherd’s Table was Brandon Oates, Executive Director.
"The Shepherd's Table expresses its gratitude to HGTC for thinking of us. The money that employees helped raise will go to support our mission of ‘Sharing God's Love, One Meal at a Time.’ This mission includes not only feeding the hungry but also finding out why the plate of food is needed and doing what we can to reduce and end poverty in the area. We thank HGTC employees for their support and continued efforts in helping us further our vision," said Oates.
