Tina Winesette Elected to Serve Horry County First Steps

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is proud to announce that Tina Winesette, HGTC Professor of Early Childhood Education, has been elected to serve on the Horry County First Steps Board of Directors.

The mission of Horry County First Steps is to ensure that children start school ready to learn by supporting the caring adults who touch their lives. Partnerships are established and resources are secured to provide programs that focus on quality early care and education, family support, health, and early literacy.

Prior to joining HGTC in August of 2017, Professor Winesette had many years of experience teaching early childhood education, English as a second language (ESL) classes, and general educational development (GED) classes for school districts and other community colleges in the Carolinas. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education and a Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education.

“Horry County First Steps has been a vital part of the community since 2002 and continues to grow with the help of donors and volunteers that make our mission possible. I look forward to supporting young children, their families and community to promote school readiness,” said Tina Winesette, HGTC Professor of Early Childhood Education.

Professor Winesette’s focus on the board of directors will be family education, training, and support.
