Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is thrilled to announce the upcoming Foreign Film Night, taking place on Wednesday, November 15, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The event will be held on the Conway Campus in Building 1100, Library, Room 218.
HGTC Professors Valerie Falbo and Dr. Maravillas Lencina will be presenting the impactful film "Who is Dayani Cristal?” The film traces the remarkable journey of one man through the perilous desert corridor known as “the corridor of death,” shedding light on the compelling story of migration.
Valerie Falbo, HGTC Spanish Professor, shared her enthusiasm about the event, stating, "This film offers a profound exploration of one individual's incredible journey and the broader narrative of migration. It promises to be an engaging and eye-opening experience.
"Who is Dayani Cristal?” will be presented in Spanish and English with English subtitles to ensure accessibility to all viewers. There will be a thoughtful discussion about the film and its essential themes following the screening.
The Foreign Film Night is open to all offering a unique opportunity to experience international cinema and engage in meaningful dialogue. Admission is completely FREE, however everyone who attends is encouraged to bring one item to donate to the HGTC Food Pantry or the Backpack Buddies project.
