The HGTC Foundation Elects New Board Members
Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) and the HGTC Foundation Board of Directors are proud to announce three new board members recently nominated and elected to serve the Foundation through a special election. Etta Greene Carter, Bryan Lewis, and Ashley Nelson have joined the Board of Directors to fill open terms by recent board member retirements.
“On behalf of the Foundation Staff, I would like to congratulate the new board members nominated to serve the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Foundation Board of Directors. It is my honor and privilege to welcome these three outstanding community members as our newest elected members of this dynamic organization! We are thrilled to have them serve on our Board, and we look forward to working with them in the coming years. I believe their knowledge, expertise, and vision will be an invaluable contribution in helping the Foundation reach our goals,” said Shannon Detzler, HGTC Foundation Board President.

Ashley Nelson, Program and Communications Officer for the Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation.
Etta Greene Carter is the Director of Adult Education for Horry County Schools. She brings many years of community involvement with the South Carolina Association of School Administrators, United Way, Finklea Community Center, and Waccamaw Workforce Development.
Bryan Lewis is the Director of Customer Service for Santee Cooper. He brings many years of community involvement with the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, Conway Chamber of Commerce, American Heart Association, United Way, and the Myrtle Beach Rotary Club.
Ashley Nelson is the Program and Communications Officer for the Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation. She brings many years of community involvement with the Village Group, Coastal Montessori Charter School, Junior League of the Grand Strand, and the Waccamaw High School-School Improvement Council.
The purpose of the HGTC Foundation is to raise funds to support the programs, services, and activities of Horry-Georgetown Technical College, its students and employees, and to create and strengthen positive relations between the College and the community.
