HGTC Workforce Development Named Outstanding Organization in 2021

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) announced today the Workforce Development program was named the Outstanding Organization of 2021 by the South Carolina Association of Adult and Continuing Education (SCAACE) at the Celebrating our Success Luncheon. The nomination for the award was made by Tony Kroll, College and Career Navigator for the Horry County Schools (HCS) Adult Education.
Kroll said the nomination was in recognition of HGTC Workforce Development’s “appealing, accessible, and affordable” program options, as well as their ongoing partnership with the HCS Integrated Education and Training programs.

HGTC’s Betty Hemingway was also named the SCAACE statewide Citizen Leadership of the Year recipient for her student support. She has been employed at HGTC for the past 28 years and currently serves as the Student Development Coordinator working with students to achieve their academic goals by planning and guiding them through the pathway to academic success. She also works with international students petitioning for student visas (F1) to attend college and providing information on how to request their official transcript(s).
