The Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Foundation is pleased to announce that Wells Fargo presented a $15,000 grant to support scholarship funding for the College. The fund was established by Wells Fargo to provide scholarships for workforce training in high demand occupations.
“Wells Fargo is proud to support students with the financial assistance they need to obtain a valuable education at HGTC,” said Shannon Murphy, Wells Fargo District Senior Manager. “We are honored to work together with educational institutions like HGTC to help create a competitive workforce and sustainable economy for generations to come.”
A candidate for the scholarship award must be in need of financial assistance and a resident of Horry and Georgetown counties. The Wells Fargo Scholarship may be used for tuition, books, supplies, or other educational expenses. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and must complete a FAFSA form to be eligible for any scholarship.
Students must submit applications to the HGTC Financial Aid Office and selection of the awardees will be made by the College Scholarship Committee. The HGTC Financial Aid Office will ensure the awardees receive the proper credit through the College Business Office.
Scholarships will be awarded for the upcoming spring semester 2023.
