Alpha Nu Sigma Chapter Receives International Awards

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Alpha Nu Sigma Chapter Members and Advisors received International Awards at the Phi Theta Kappa Catalyst April 7-9, 2022 in Denver, Colorado. The HGTC Alpha Nu Sigma Chapter received the Distinguished College Project Award (1 of only 50 awarded) and Top 100 Chapter Award out of over 1,200 in the world.
Phi Theta Kappa partnered with the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) to host an esports competition during Catalyst this year. Nicholas Papotto, HGTC Alpha Nu Sigma Chapter member, was on the winning esports team. He and his team members received a $250 scholarship, a personalized NJCAAE jersey, and $300 worth of Alienware peripherals and were recognized on stage during the Hallmark Awards gala.
“I am proud of the leadership skills our students are gaining through our HGTC Alpha Nu Sigma Chapter. The real-world experiences will be a game changer in their lives. I appreciate the tenacity of the advisors in bringing students to such great heights,” said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, HGTC President.
