Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) and Northcentral University (NCU) recently signed an affiliate agreement between the colleges. The mutually beneficial agreement will facilitate the enrollment of HGTC alumni and employees in one of Northcentral’s quality online degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels, and certificate programs at the master’s and doctoral levels.
“HGTC is thrilled about this new agreement with NCU for graduates, faculty, and staff,” said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, president of HGTC. “We will be able to enrich the lives and careers of our alumni and our own employees by providing access to Northcentral degrees and certificates.”
Incorporated in the agreement is one full-tuition bachelor’s completion, master’s, or doctoral degree scholarship as part of the President’s Scholarship launch. Newly enrolled HGTC faculty, staff, and alumni will receive one free course in a bachelor’s completion, master’s, or doctoral degree program and a preferred reduction in tuition rate that is 25% less than the published tuition rates for the entire degree program with equal portions of the scholarship applied to each course in the program. Applications for scholarship consideration will be due by April 2.
“Our partnership extends our mission of accessibility to higher education, and we’re proud to welcome Horry-Georgetown faculty, students and alumni into the NCU community. Horry-Georgetown, like NCU, has a significant history of helping students to achieve their desired outcomes,” David Harpool, president of Northcentral University.
NCU programs in Behavioral Sciences, Business, Education, Health Sciences, Law, Marriage & Family Sciences, Psychology, and Technology are all online featuring applied experiential learning and benefit from one-to-one mentoring of students by faculty. Courses are offered in 8-week or 12-week formats with frequent starts throughout the year.
NCU will begin accepting applications from HGTC alumni and employees as soon as February 26 at https://www.ncu.edu/horry-georgetown.
