HGTC Selects Faculty, Staff and Student of the Year
Prof. Allison Burlyn, chair of the mathematics department at Horry-Georgetown Technical College, was recognized recently as “Professor of the Year for 2016.” She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Coastal Carolina University and a Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Tennessee. Burlyn joined HGTC in 2005 and quickly developed a student following in mathematics.
Geraldine Perritt, administrative assistant in the academic affairs department, was named “Staff Member of the Year for 2016.” In bestowing the award, HGTC President Neyle Wilson said, “Her work is meticulous and she throws herself into it enthusiastically.” A graduate of HGTC, Perritt has worked at the college for 18 years.
Graduate Roy Luther won the Alpha Nu Sigma service and leadership award. Luther volunteers with the Surfside Fire Department. He was graduated with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in General Business, Cum Laude.
