Grand Strand Gets Ready for First Mac n’ Cheese Bake-off
Myrtle Beach, SC—The Grand Strand is gearing up for its first annual Mac n’ Cheese Bake-off.
Scheduled for Saturday, September 20, and hosted by Crady’s Eclectic Cuisine, the event will be held in downtown Conway, South Carolina, a historic riverfront
town where food is king and southern favorites like mac n’ cheese reign.
The bake-off is expected to attract chefs—from professionals to the not-so-experienced—and
those who simply love mac n’ cheese.
According to event organizer, Barbara (Crady) Whitley, the bake-off represents the
first of an annual event scheduled for the third Saturday in September and honors
the memory of Adam Lee Whitley, Barbara’s son and the former chef and proprietor of
Crady’s.
According to Whitley, “Proceeds will help fund a Culinary Arts scholarship at Horry-Georgetown
Technical College. Adam had a passion for cooking, loved mac n’ cheese, and always
had an open door for aspiring young chefs—especially those from Horry-Georgetown Technical
College.”
In addition to Mac n’ Cheese, this family-friendly event (no alcohol served or allowed
on premises) will offer for purchase other southern staples including sweet tea and
an assortment of Crady’s most requested desserts.
