HGTC fall and flex start registration underway
Are you ready for college but not until after Labor Day? Fall classes start Mon., Aug. 25, 2014, at Horry-Georgetown Technical College, where 4,900 new students have applied and an average of 70 more are applying daily. Several thousand additional students are expected to continue their second year toward associate degree completion.
But students who prefer to work until after Labor Day are still eligible to enroll for Flex Start, a compressed class schedule that permits students to enter later while catching up with classmates who started earlier. Night and online classes are growing in popularity among students who work or have families.
Popular programs this year, in addition to health sciences, include criminal justice, machine tool technology, welding, engineering technology and college transfer programs.
S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance is available to all state residents who are recent graduates of S.C. high schools, covering just under $1,500 of the $1,793 tuition for students from Horry and Georgetown Counties.
