HGTC's Fourth Annual Educational Talent Search High School Senior Awards Banquet Recognizes Local Area Student Achievements
The Educational Talent Search (ETS) program at Horry-Georgetown Technical College hosted its Fourth Annual Senior Awards banquet recently to recognize college bound high seniors for outstanding academic achievements and program participation who were involved in the Education Talent Search program while in high school. Seniors are chosen annually from Horry and Georgetown County schools. Seventy-five high school seniors were recognized.
Educational Talent Search is a federally funded program of the U.S. Department of Education. It is designed to assist participants in reach their postsecondary academic potential. The program assists students who meet federal guidelines for participation and includes students who may be the first in their families to go to college.
The services of ETS are offered through guidance offices in select schools of Horry and Georgetown counties of South Carolina and are intended to support these students. Participants receive assistance in applying to any college, university or other qualified institution of post-secondary education.
