PHY 118 Medical Imaging Science (3)
This course is the study of the fundamental physics associated with the field of medical
imaging sciences. The areas of study include concepts of radiation production as it
relates to x rays and nuclear medicine studies and acoustical properties related to
sonographic exams.
PHY 201 Physics I (4)
This is the first in a sequence of physics courses. Topics include mechanics, wave
motion, sound, heat, electromagnetism, optics, and modern physics. This course is
transferable to public senior institutions as part of the South Carolina Commission
on Higher Education Statewide Articulation Agreement.
PHY 202 Physics II (4)
This course covers physics topics, including mechanics, wave motion, sound, heat,
electromagnetism, optics, and modern physics. This course is transferable to public

PHY 221 University Physics I (4)
This is the first of a sequence of courses. The course includes a calculus based treatment
of the following topics: vectors, laws of motion, rotation, vibratory, and wave motion.

Commission on Higher Education Statewide Articulation Agreement.
PHY 222 University Physics II (4)
This course is a continuation of calculus based treatment of the following topics:
thermodynamics, kinetic theory of gases, electricity and magnetism, including electrostatics,
dielectrics, electric circuits, magnetic fields, and induction phenomena. This course
is transferable to public senior institutions as part of the South Carolina Higher
Education Statewide Articulation Agreement. .
