HGTC Office of Student Engagement is thrilled to announce the inaugural Chomp’s Got Talent event, set to take place on Wednesday, March 27, at the Burroughs & Chapin Auditorium on the Conway Campus. In honor of Chomp, HGTC’s gator mascot, this talent show promises to be an evening filled with excitement, showcasing the incredible talents of our HGTC students.
With 16 current HGTC students registered to compete for the coveted $500 1st Place Cash Prize, the anticipation is palpable. But the excitement doesn’t stop there - this event is open to the public, inviting everyone to join HGTC in cheering on the talented contestants.
"We're incredibly proud to host the first-ever talent show at HGTC," said Rebecca Kaneiwa, HGTC Student Engagement Coordinator. "It's an opportunity for our students to shine, and we're thrilled to see such enthusiasm from our college community. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable evening of talent and excitement!"
The event kicks off at 7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with entertainment, as celebrity judges will be on hand to help determine the winners. And let’s not forget the bragging rights - being part of this inaugural event is an experience the community will not want to miss!
Cash prizes await the top three performers being $500 for 1st Place, $300 for 2nd Place, and $100 for 3rd Place. Additionally, admission is free for all attendees, making it the perfect opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and the community to come together and celebrate talent.
"As President of HGTC, I am delighted to witness the vibrant showcase of talent and creativity at our first-ever Chomp’s Got Talent event. This initiative embodies our commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment where students can not only excel academically but also thrive artistically. I commend our students for their courage and dedication, and I encourage everyone to join us in celebrating their extraordinary talents," said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, HGTC President.
